Probed
House republicans to request special counsel to investigate ATF smuggling guns into Mexico.
Stuff happened regarding ATF smuggling guns into Mexico. Here’s some stuff:
The big news is Holder knew before he said he did. He claims he’s a busy guy and can’t possibly read all of his emails and memos and stuff.
Codrea: The man perjured himself in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. That is an impeachable offense and a prosecutable offense.
A brief timeline for Gunwalker
Obama evades questions from latino media.
Informants not only used tax payer money to buy guns for cartels, they also bought drugs.
ATF says that medical marijuana users cannot own guns. The logic is sketchy since form 4473 asks if one is an unlawful user. I would say being permitted by the state makes one’s use lawful. ATF disagrees:
The federal government considers all users of medical marijuana unlawful, no matter what state law says.
Generally, the government considers us criminals anyway.
I would answer the question with a no, personally, since someone with their card is not an unlawful user.
Seen on facebook:
IBD: Again, Fast and Furious was no botched sting operation. The ATF simply didn’t “lose track” of thousands of weapons. We believe this was a planned and premeditated attempt to further the administration’s gun-control agenda and its claim that violence in Mexico was our fault.
Yup. Is the media ignoring or covering up?
Obama’s Watergate? No, Watergate had no body count.
Thankfully, ATF shenanigans haven’t become a something-gate. I hate that suffix. But: Watergate didn’t have a body count. Gunwalker has hundreds.
Newsday notices that there’s not much coverage.
Issa favors special investigator
CBS News has obtained secretly recorded conversations that raise questions as to whether some evidence is being withheld in the murder of a Border Patrol agent.
More ATF guns, more crime: guns linked to three more murders.
Some stuff:
McCain temporarily unfucks himself and does something smart: McCain wants Senate hearing on Fast and Furious
Another ATF gun used in a crime. In the US. 50 more.
Holder continues to deny involvement.
Bob Barr attacks the institutional leadership of ATF. That’s a start. But the ass covering is well underway.
The WSJ reports today that federal authorities are now investigating why the U.S. Attorney’s office in Phoenix — the same office that oversaw Fast and Furious — released Jean Baptiste Kingery after he confessed to providing military-style weapons to the now-defunct La Familia Michoacana drug cartel.
Kingery, who was arrested and released in June 2010, confessed to manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) using grenade components from the U.S. He also admitted to helping the cartel convert semi-automatic rifles into machine guns. Mexican criminal organizations are increasingly using these military-style weapons as the cartels’ escalate their wars against the government and one another.
Unpossible! The press and the anti-gunners (but I repeat myself) told me they got those machine guns and grenades at American gun shows!
ATF sends open letter to firearms dealers telling them to be on the look out for terrorists buying guns. The actual funny part is they tell the dealers to alert ATF to any suspicious activity. You know, like those dealers did when folks were arming Mexican drug gangs and ATF told them to make the sale or else.
ATF gunwalking stuff:
Remember that claim that 90% of guns in Mexico are traced to the US parroted by the media, the administration and the anti-gunners (but I repeat myself)? Turns out, the .gov’s own internal documents don’t support that claim:
Claims by Mexican and U.S. officials that upwards of 90 percent of illegal recovered weapons can be traced back to the U.S. is based on an incomplete survey of confiscated weapons. In point of fact, without wider access to the weapons seized in Mexico, we really have no way of verifying these numbers.
And, thus, fast and furious was born.
The press blames the NRA. No shame.
Investigators gamed during investigation.
I think she forgot an “up“.
Issa concurs with me: fall guy acquired.
ATF acting director interviewed, says he doesn’t want the job.
New director briefed on gunwalking. Meet the new boss.
ATF director Melson out. Interim director to be US Attorney for Minnesota Todd Jones.
The ATF is having a party to celebrate successfully breaking the law.
Arrested for lack of common sense. If that’s a crime, I have a very long list.
Arrested for riding a bike to school?
Arrested over photo of an oil refinery. “No aesthetic value” makes it illegal or something.
ATF shuts down another dealer for clerical errors.
If you run guns into Mexico for ATF, you get promoted. If you do it without their consent, you get 30 years.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
