Pocket 9 round up
Thursday, September 27th, 2012All of them, rounded up.
All of them, rounded up.
Been talking about it for a while, but I’ve now been pocket carrying a 9 for about three weeks. I’ve been carrying a Kahr PM9 on loan from Oleg, who was nice enough to let me try it out. For holsters, I’ve been going back and forth between a Galco Pocket Protector and the Dragon […]
Mentioned the Diamondback DB9 last time. Well, a couple of reviews are here and here.
The Sig P290 is getting a new trigger. I handled those at the gun show this past weekend and I did like the size. I also handled the Diamondback DB9 and liked its feel. Anyone try either of these? The case against the pocket 9. I know I don’t need a pocket 9. But I’m […]
But need has nothing to do with it.
A round up
A year after most people already stopped getting them. FoxNews: The .380 semi-automatic handgun has become all the rage in firearms, as more states relax conceal-carry restrictions and men and women alike turn to a palm-sized gun that easily fits into a handbag, pocket or ankle holster. Production of the super-small handgun is at a […]
So, I snagged a M&P Shield that came equipped with a Crimson Trace green laser: I typically wear cargo style pants and bought it as a pocket gun. Any pocket holster recommendations?
2010 was the year of the 380. 2011 looks like a bump in 9mm and larger calibers. With everyone making single stack and pocket 9mms, I’m not surprised. Except Glock, who I’ve been saying should do that for a long time.
Oleg loaned me a Kahr PM9 to test out. I liked it. A nice little sized 9mm that I could pocket carry. I only got the opportunity to run 2 magazines through it. And it performed well with A zone hits at 10(ish) yards. The trigger was a little longer than I’m accustomed to but […]
Awesome
Since I’ve been asked about that cute little cannon in the video from yesterday, you can buy one here for $30.
A note on gun-writing. Yup. That’s probably why I write about non-gun stuff as well. Besides, this year’s new hotness is pocket 9mms. I don’t think he got the memo.
Weerd has a look. In the event I lived in ban state like Weerd, I’d likely carry 45s too because, well, why not. Of course, I live in a no ban state and mostly carry a 45. Despite thinking about switching.
Video from Ed Head. It’s like he heard me.
Comparing three popular pocket guns. I resoundingly disagree with the ranking. I will not and do not recommend carrying a 1911 style gun in a pocket. And the bodyguard, aside from reported reliability issues, does come with a laser. And that laser must be activated. I’d go with the Ruger. Even better, the Kel-Tec since […]
I don’t get The Outdoor Channel. But I was at my dad’s the other day and he does. We caught Michael Bane‘s show The Shooting Gallery with Ed Head on pocket pistols. I didn’t catch all of it but I noticed that all the filming of ed shooting the pocket pistol, he was using an […]
A wallet style holster from Concealed Carry Comfort called the Pocket Pal 380: From Gun Porn Interesting. Though I have to wonder if it would cause your gun to be classified as an AOW.
A round up from Jay.
You can put me down in the ho-hum category. But Ruger probably will sell a lot of these. Additionally, it will lead to a lot of other companies getting creative and making more pocket 9mms. Seems buying Kel-Tec designs and making them smoother and prettier and available is good business.
Oleg has some pics of the pocket 9 here and here. And here’s a range report.
I love pocket rifles. Pics stolen from this subguns thread: From Gun Porn From Gun Porn From Gun Porn
Switch from little .380s to little 9mms? Speaking of, more photos and specs of the new Sig290 are here.
I dunno. I don’t think I would carry a cocked and locked 1911 in my pocket. And if I don’t carry it cocked and locked, then why carry a 1911?
Sebastian asks. I answered a bit back. Though today, I have a new holster.
I received my order for four pairs of 5.11 Covert Tactical Pants. You can get them at that link cheap but sizes and colors are limited. A brief review: 100% cotton and thick. One of the issues I have generally with khaki style pants is that they’re too thin, which, for me, makes them uncomfortable. […]

I mentioned them yesterday. I still contend that they are not most effective carry method. But given how I dress, it’s the method I use most often. Les Jones looks at the issue: I mostly pocket carry because it fits the way I dress. With any kind of belt carry you have to conceal the […]
HOA orders 90 year old medal of honor winner to take down a flag pole. Says Marko: Also, you have to question the smarts of a group of people who decided to boss around a man who took on three German Tiger tanks head-on armed with only a bazooka and a Thompson, and came out […]
For a 1911.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
