Speaking of “expect everything being reported in the first several hours to be substantially wrong”
Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015True.
True.
Bombs went off in Boston during the marathon. Thoughts go out to the people of Boston on this horrible day. I heard this on the news on the way home and thought to myself that people were toiling away at blaming some political group. Didn’t take long. Remember during Sandy Hook how the press got […]
A look at public reactions toward a mass shooting. Of course, after just such a shooting, the press gets substantially every thing wrong and the real story unfolds later. And this: I would add that if people were attuned to the causes of the overwhelming majority of gun deaths (guns and gangs, not mass shootings, […]
The most busted name in news: Seen on facebook. First, it was an AR-15. Then an AR-15 shotgun. And now it’s a someone taking Joe Biden’s advice and using a shotgun. Then he used a shotgun to steel an AR-15. Now, it’s no AR at all. Then there were up to three shooters. And then […]
As with a mass shooting, history shows that whenever there’s uproar over a black person getting killed by the police, everything you hear for the first several days is substantially wrong. So, I’m sitting tight on what happened in Baton Rouge and Minneapolis.
Reports of up to three shooters. And, in a surprising move, the press is using the word terror more so than they usually do. As I say whenever this happens, expect everything being reported in the first several hours to be substantially wrong. As Sebastian says: I dont tend to cover these stories as they […]
After any shocking news event, particularly a shooting, everything that comes out for the first few hours is substantially wrong. This morning, it was “white guy kills three muslims!” Then it was “atheist progressive Rachel Maddow loving liberal kills three muslims!” But it turns out to likely be a dispute over parking.
Scolding the NYT, a paper that gets substantially everything wrong about gun issues.
Initial reports were that the capitol was on lock down and shooter on the loose. And boy are their faces red. Not really, that would require the ability to feel shame. Narrative and all. After a notable event, the press will get everything substantially wrong.
After a shooting, they tend to go quiet. Probably for the best since they seem to take that time to get their facts straight, unlike the press. LaPierre takes it to the news programs.
Better headline would be: WHITE MAN THREATENS MINORITY WOMAN: No charges have been filed against George Zimmerman on Monday as the investigation continues into if he threatened his estranged wife with a gun, as she originally told Central Florida police. No charges filed? That sounds familiar. Given that everything the press reported about the first […]
The media lied about Sandy Hook. Well, yeah. And in the first few hours of the shooting, they got substantially everything wrong. Layers of fact checking!
I thought that people would at least let the bodies cool before politicizing the mass murder of a bunch of children. In the instant information age, I guess that’s not the case. Apparently, we’re to now have a “national discussion” on gun control. Again. We already did and you lost. But here you go. This […]
ABC’s Nightline looks at restaurant carry. They get substantially everything wrong. But the really funny bit is that they point out how drawing and firing from a holster is less accurate than taking slow aimed shots under ideal conditions.
Say you do a post on guns. You get substantially everything wrong, including gun laws, types of guns, and everything else. Someone advises you of your error. You reply with: I’ve been harassed by a commentor (sic). So, I’ve had to pull the story. And what a story it was. There can be no reasoning […]
I’m no rock star. I appreciate the accolades from Glenn. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Dr. Helen was a fan. Would it kill you to leave a comment, or something? One of the things about this blog is that I have a lot of readers who comment. But I have a lot who […]
