I finally managed to get the new and improved WASR-10 out to the range. Here’s the post on some of the mods I made with before and after photos. But, for you folks too lazy to click, my AK set up is Romanian WASR-10, which you can learn everything about it by clicking here. Seriously, […]
This looks like a terrible way to put an optic on an AK. It doesn’t co-witness. You’d have to take the sight off to clean it. Then re-zero. The Ultimak is clearly a better solution, if you’re into AKs.
Tam: I know I’ve occasionally gone back and looked at my old stuff with a new eye, and been a bit surprised. Yup. At some point or another, I’ve: Carried a Glock with a Clipdraw. Had an AR with a scope mounted on a carry handle. Tricked out a WASR. All it needed was the […]
From Oleg. I’ve been a fan of Ultimak for a while
A look at why they exist, how they work, and how you use them.
Cool. Via Lyle.
Sound and fury, signifying nothing. Heh AK mounting options. I’ve always been a fan of UlitMAK. Uhm, ok. NSFW(ish)
I like living in a world where law professors are blogging about choosing Aimpoints over EOTech. I prefer the EOTech for a few reasons but the training community tends to favor Aimpoints for durability and battery life. I think I could switch and be perfectly happy. Also, a nice breakdown from Lyle on the different […]
Lyle in comments: Anything you are still able to do legally without government approval is a “loophole”. I like that better than my definition.
Heh
Don’t bother decking it out. It will still feel like a clunky baseball bat no matter what you put on it. And it still won’t look right. It’s an AK. I don’t care for them even though I should. However, if you want to put a sight on it, get a rail from Ultimak. Then […]
The non-NRA Meeting floor version. KelTec PMR Carbine Ultimak equipped AK Suppressed AR
Hammerhead stock adapter C-More M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun Hart barrels. Those look very nice. UltiMAK mount for Krinks MRDS
Lyle of UltiMAK has a post over at Joe’s place showing his new rail optic mount for Garands. Cool.
In comments, Lyle points out that the new AKs seen here looks familiar: Says Lyle: Immitation is a sincere form of flattery I suppose. Thanks, Izhmash. That forward rail of yours was my first UltiMAK prototype, so you’re starting to catch up to this Yankee after 60+ years, when I came up with it about […]
Over on the left, you’ll see an ad for Ultmak. Not only are they advertising here, but I endorse their products. I was happy with mine. More here and here.
In response to yesterday’s post of a guy shooting clays with a bow and arrow, here’s a video Lyle and company shooting clays with an AK.
Lyle wrote a bit on polarized sunglasses and holographic sights a bit back.
Of a gun that I used to own. And why you shouldn’t put gun related terms in PayPal. Also, gratuitous plug for UltiMAK because even though I don’t dig AKs, I do dig Lyle’s work.
The new and improved Mr. Plinky: Tapco stock (yea, I know, it’s Tapco but this stock has a real nice fit), Uncle Brandtm Single Point Sling, BSA Red Dot ($29 at Wal-Mart – try as I might, I can’t justify putting a $400 optic on a $150 gun), and it has all the Davis Custom […]
Lyle of Ultimak (and if you have an AK you should be buying stuff there) in comments: I’d be interested to know how many arsonists are allowed to buy matches and gasoline, and why the HELL no one’s required to get fingerprints, photos, a retinal scan, DNA sample and a criminal background check from every […]
I had an epiphany of sorts in Reno. No matter what I do, how hard I try, or what I know: I just don’t like AKs. Period. Can’t help it. I have a nice AK (see pics here) and I should like it. I just don’t. I know I should like them because: They’re tough […]
Will you? The Gun Blogger Rendezvous is next week in Reno, NV. I’ll be getting in late Thursday. Looks like an all-star gun-blogging line up will be there. There’s also prizes and range time planned. Trying to figure out the best way to transport some toys with me to Reno, as flying with Mr. Blasty […]
All linky, no thinky. Busy today but here’s some stuff: Gunner has a link to a nifty looking AK scope mount. I dig the Ultimak. Looks like the one gunner likes bolts to the gun to eliminate rocking and travel, which is a problem with most AK receiver mounts. The gun buyback in Memphis nets […]
Oleg has a pic of a nice looking Ultimak and a nice looking lady. BTW, I highly recommend Ultimak products for your AK mounting system needs.
Jeff started a gun meme and wants to know what guns you got this year. He posted pics of his. Well, I have the AK kit (plenty of pics there) I’m working on. I finished up the UltiMAK WASR. And I got the P-22, which I have no pictures of and can’t take any since […]
I don’t usually pimp the Blogads over there on the right but you’ll notice the new one from UltiMAK. They make good stuff and I highly recommend their AK scout mount. You can see my various mentions of them here.
Arguably, the two most popular holographic sights on the market are the Aimpoint Comp and the EOTech. Here’s the Aimpoint: Here’s the EOTech: Price: The EOTech can be had from about $175 (if you get the Bushnell version which lacks some bells and whistles) to $400. The Aimpoint can be had starting at $329 up […]
A while back, I mentioned my AK upgrades. I installed the UltiMAK Scout Mount on my WASR-10. My only issue was that it, with a standard scope ring, did not cowitness with the iron sights. Cowitnessing is having your iron sights lined up with the red dot sight so that you have back up sights […]
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
