Smith and Wesson reports handgun sales are up 27%. Good.
Les has his weekly gun links up. Particularly interesting to me is the bit about online gun sales.

This article, in addition to having some neat facts, details the following: 13 members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives introduced a bill that would give law enforcement the authority to confiscate all handguns in private possession, unless they are approved by a newly created Handgun Standard Commission. The catch 22 is that no handgun […]

In light of recent events: “2,000 people joined NAAGA (National African American Gun Association – Ed) in 36 hours after George Floyd 2pharmaceuticals.com ,” said founder Philip Smith. “That broke our records. We’re getting a ton of folks from all over.” buy kamagra
So, Dick’s, in an effort to virtue signal, stopped selling guns. Not only that, but they destroyed $5M worth of “assault-style rifles”*. They also lost $250M in sales. * a made up word.
Amazon is removing products that might be used with “assault weapons”. Dumb.
Wal-Mart is going to stop selling handgun ammunition and short barreled rifle ammunition (whatever that is). Also, they’re asking folks not to open carry in their stores. And Kroger is asking people not to open carry.
Someone sent a FOIA request to ATF on the database that tracks machineguns and got this: Pre 86 (transferables): 175,977 Sales Samples (pre May keepers): 17,020 Restricted 922(o) (posties): 297,667
Apparently, Dick’s didn’t: Sales at Dick’s Sporting Goods dropped in the past three months amid backlash against tighter gun-sale restrictions following a mass killing early this year at a Florida high school. Revenue dipped 4.5 percent to $1.86 billion amid challenges in the company’s hunting business during the quarter through Nov. 3. Sales at stores […]
I interrupt a blogging break for this breaking news. It appears that the Department of Justice is about to ban bump stocks. I say about to because the Final Action is slated for the imaginary date of 12/00/2018. The new rule: This rule is intended to clarify that the statutory definition of machinegun includes certain […]
Dicks Says Under Armour, New Gun-Sales Policy Dragged on Results
Barack Obama weaponized the government for use against his political opponents. The IRS, Operation Chokepoint, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, etc. He was, of course, planning on handing that over to Hillary. Oops. Apparently, weaponizing the government is just what democrats do: Unable to Ban Guns, Lawmakers Want to Weaponize the ATF Against Gun Dealers As […]
Several gun manufacturers have terminated their sales to Dick’s over their recent stance on gun control. The latest is Mossberg.
But if I did, I’d end any business I had with CitiBank.
I somehow missed this bit from October: Large majorities of Americans support several specific policies intended to limit access to guns, including expanded background checks and restrictions on sales to the mentally ill. But relatively few Americans actually contact public officials to express their views, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in the […]
Nolan Finley: I went through the questions, starting with name, address, etc., and moving toward the serious business: Have you ever been convicted of a crime? Under a restraining owner for domestic abuse? Been treated for mental illness? After the salesperson hit the send button, I noticed I had misspelled my last name. So I […]
Some paper Where Great Britain Used to Be is butthurt that someone bought the pieces to assemble a bomb from amazon. Without security checks! Whatever those are. So, you wanna restrict sales of pressure cookers and nails? I can get parts for bombs and guns at Lowe’s.
ATF has released its report on Firearms Commerce (pdf file). The data on page 15 I found interesting as it ranked guns and NFA items by state ownership. And NFA items, in general, show a steady increase in sales.
San Diego Union Tribune: A letter from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to law enforcement agencies across Southern California warning about an emerging problem of officers engaging in unlicensed firearms sales came just weeks after a Pasadena police officers home was searched and guns seized. The March 31 letter from Eric […]
This doesn’t seem to jibe with February being the third best month for NICS checks but Massad Ayoob says the two gun makers are laying people off.
The NRA. A gun control group and some millenials are butthurt that the NRA can actually by ads: Leaked Snapchat emails: Gun safety charity told to pay or NRA ads may appear on videos But that’s not what seems to have happened. SnapChat sells ads. Obviously, they want ad money. Makes perfect sense to reach […]
The New York Times: Working from an office suite behind a Burger King in southern Virginia, operatives used a web of shadowy cigarette sales to funnel tens of millions of dollars into a secret bank account. They werent known smugglers, but rather agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The operation, not […]
Mother Jones laments that the poor, put upon ATF lacks personnel and is underfunded. From the piece: “We always crack up when they’re like, ‘You’re coming to take our guns,’” says Corey Ray with an eye roll. “Look, we don’t have the people.” Ray, an ATF spokesman, reels off some facts: More than 10 million […]
Are you so wrapped up in your views that everyone around you shares them? And I think that we could soon see suppressors regulated as firearms. The scare factor around them seems to be fading. And there are now record sales of the things.
A year after most people already stopped getting them. FoxNews: The .380 semi-automatic handgun has become all the rage in firearms, as more states relax conceal-carry restrictions and men and women alike turn to a palm-sized gun that easily fits into a handbag, pocket or ankle holster. Production of the super-small handgun is at a […]
Researchers claim 3 gun controls would stop 90% of gun deaths: The three measures linked to substantial drops in firearms-related deaths were: universal background checks for firearms sales, background checks on those buying ammunition, and a requirement that gun owners get their firearms microchipped or fingerprinted for identification purposes. Uh huh. Sure thing, sparky.
Smith & Wesson sales surge 61.5%
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
