Guns, drugs, and Mexico

Drug control breeds gun control. The ever evolving Mexican Gun Canard goes through another iteration.
Or pantalones mierda histeria Despite being thoroughly debunked, the Mexican Gun Canard continues: Fox News already debunked the claim that 90% of the guns involved in Mexico’s drug war come from the United States. Facts aside, the press onslaught continues in a new push for gun control. The fact is that out of 29,000 firearms […]
I’m guessing the anti-aircraft machine gun that fires 800 round per minute came from a US gun show? Hillary Clinton says so.
Despite the canard being debunked, the press still parrots it. It’s OK, it’s just a red herring now.
Don’t tell Yon, but I’d say a fair amount of Mexican AK-47s are coming from that Venezuelan factory.
A summary, from Rusty.
Alberto Gonzales (you remember him?) advocates a Southern Strategy (RACIST!!!) to keep Mexico secure. Blames the nonexistent gun show loophole. The other biased Washington paper says that Hezbollah is using the same routes as Mexican drug gangs. Scary, if true. ATF testified that the case of assault weapons flowing into Mexico was overstated. Now, a […]
ATF and other federal agents are going to the border: Hundreds of federal agents, along with high-tech surveillance gear and drug-sniffing dogs, are headed to the Southwest to help Mexico fight drug cartels and keep violence from spilling across the U.S.-Mexico border, Obama administration officials said Tuesday Good. Meanwhile, other groups join in the chorus […]
More misrepresentation that rocket launchers are heading into Mexico from the US. Insty also says: If rocket launchers and grenades are making it into Mexico from the United States, it’s because they’re being sold out the back door of military and police armories, since civilian gun stores don’t sell them. Say, anyone know the rate […]
Mexico is getting pretty bad. So bad, that Obama is talking about moving troops to the border. And the piece concludes with talks of Mexico’s problems being a catalyst for gun control. Of course, it’s dogma now. This with past reports from DOD officials that Mexico is on the verge of collapse do not bode […]
After receiving threats, the mayor of Juarez moved his family to El Paso. Odd. I mean, if all the problems in Mexico can be blamed on American guns, why would you move closer to our guns?
Texas is drafting a plan to deal with Mexico’s potential collapse.
The outright fabrication of blaming US for the fact that Mexican drug gangs are getting machine guns and grenades at US gun shows continues. Meanwhile: “The 5.7 x 28, armor piercing (AP) rounds are not available for sale to the general public and are probably coming from the Mexican military,” Last week Gen. Ángeles Dahuajare […]
David Hardy has thoughts on US guns going to Mexico. $20 goes a long way in Mexico. Also, there’s currently a bill in the house (HR 6028) addressing the subject by (gasp!) throwing money at it: H.R. 6028 would authorize assistance for Mexico and Central American countries to control drug trafficking and organized crime and […]
When they come pre-fisked, blogging is easy. I was going to blast this bit by Paul Helmke in which he parrots untruths about Mexico and gun shows but Thirdpower reminded me that I already did. And Paul gets the facts wrong on how the Columbine kids got their weapons.
Et tu, Mexico (see post below): Mexico’s strict gun control laws are contributing to an illegal gun market and easier access to weapons, according to U.S. law enforcement officials that are close observers of a recent upswing in border violence. Since January, more than 600 people have been killed in an ongoing war between rival […]
Proposed breed specific legislation banning pit bulls in New Mexico died in committee: But pit bull breeders and others told the committee breed-specific bans would not survive court challenges. Robert Cortese, a pit bull breeder from Tajique, said Beffort’s bill would burden the state with impounding thousands of innocent dogs “while doing nothing to protect […]
Speaking of New Mexico, there’s a bill pending to ban the breeding of pit bulls. This could be hard to do since pit bulls aren’t a breed: The breeding of pit bulls could be banned statewide as early as July, if a bill proposed by a state senator is passed into law. Under a bill […]
Officer Fatally Shoots Man During Traffic Stop. As Uncle is often pointing out how the media is biased against firearms, I noticed this one in my own local paper and found the online version. By the headline you’d assume the cop just went postal, only halfway through do you find out the one who was […]
There is a move to ban pit bull breeding in New Mexico. An opponent of the bill has an interesting tale: Sally Mayer has been through a vicious dog attack of her own. “It chewed my face off,” said Mayer, a city councilor. She was 2 years old at the time and had to go […]
ATF investigating former deputy for trafficking weapons to Mexico I guess they don’t like the competition?
Joked before about shipping guns to Hong Kong. Maybe I should add Mexico to the list: ‘Americans should hold on to their guns’: Bride-to-be whose family was killed in massacre days before her wedding advocates for carrying weapons because she says defenseless Mexicans can’t fight back against cartels
We have a failed state on our southern border. Drug cartel members just killed a bunch of Americans.
Kind of frightening: A Drug Cartel Just Defeated The Mexican Military In Battle If it isn’t already, Mexico will soon be ran completely by drug lords.
Where does Mexico really get its guns?
Mexico wants to sue the US over the El Paso shooting. Tam said it better than I could.
Murder record in Mexico. Three people gunned down in a London drive by. Where they have all those gun laws.
Mexico violence: With only one gun shop, why all the murders?
For gun owners. I like it. I live in a sanctuary state.
They closed their US plants and moved to Mexico: A spokesman for Alpha Guardian, parent company of Stack-On, told the Chicago Tribune that the move is due to new tariffs imposed on raw materials imported from China. Trump’s tariffs are not very good for certain businesses. Of my two safes, one is a Stack On.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
