You may be dumb
But are you dragon’s breath shotgun shells at the indoor range dumb?
An NRA gun safety video from 1946:
The Best Coat Pocket Defensive Pistols. I’ve been eyeing a Ruger LCR for this. Though I don’t really want one in .38 because I don’t need another caliber to buy. I’m leaning toward .357.
The third circuit has ruled that NJ residents need to turn in their regular capacity magazines.
I don’t have any particular nostalgia for the politics of Bob Dole. But as a person, he seems like a good guy. He’s funny and not afraid of self-deprecating humor. He was a war hero. He always seemed to be a class act. And, at 95 years of age, he’s still a class act:
Got a little dusty in here.
A guide to saps and blackjacks. I’ve never really considered carrying one, honestly. Until now. Anyone carry something similar?
There will be no reciprocity coming the lame duck congress. And I doubt congress will ever take up the issue.
A lawmaker wants to snoop through your social media history in order for you to be approved to buy a gun.
An opinion from the superior court of Pennsylvania contains this line:
While outside the apartment, Police Captain Ryan Pudik saw a box of ammunition on a coffee table inside the apartment. Captain Pudik identified the ammunition as 5.7 caliber, which he knows to be armor defeating. He and other officers entered the building and conducted a sweep of the home to make sure that there was nobody hidden inside.
The commercially available ammo in the US is not armor defeating. Via reader Richard who qups: The next cop will see a Glock 7 in the window.
A Massachusetts landlord told a Harvard University graduate student that he wanted her to move out of her apartment because her legally owned firearms made some of her roommates uncomfortable.
“Since it’s clear that Leyla wants to keep her firearms, it would be best for all parties if she finds another place to live,” Dave Lewis, president of Avid Management, said in an email to the household obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The request that the student, Leyla Pirnie, move out came after her roommates searched her room while she was not home and found her firearms. That prompted one of the roommates to email Lewis requesting he verify that Pirnie was in compliance with applicable firearms laws.
Pretty shameful.
The military warns of what one would do to our society. Notably:
18 months or more are required to replace key elements of the electric grid that would be damaged or knocked out.
Could you survive 18 months?
Trump Administration Set to Announce Pointless, Legally Dubious Bump Stock Ban
I was promised National Reciprocity and the Hearing Protection Act.
I got a bumpstock ban.
Sales at Dick’s Sporting Goods dropped in the past three months amid backlash against tighter gun-sale restrictions following a mass killing early this year at a Florida high school.
Revenue dipped 4.5 percent to $1.86 billion amid challenges in the company’s hunting business during the quarter through Nov. 3. Sales at stores open at least 12 months a key metric for the retail industry fell 6.1 percent compared to the prior year.
The Second Amendment Foundation:
In the wake of last weeks tragic mistaken identity fatal shooting of an armed citizen in an Alabama shopping mall, the Second Amendment Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms are calling for a national dialogue on how police respond to active shooter reports in public venues, such as malls, restaurants or movie theaters.
Officers responding to a shooting at the Riverchase Balleria Mall in suburban Hoover apparently mistook Emantic F. Bradford, Jr., 21, as the suspected shooter. Mr. Bradford had a carry permit according to his family but investigators have declined to confirm that. He had drawn his pistol and was fatally shot.
All the details have not been released yet but this one seems to stink. I wonder if NRA will be a part of this dialog? The tend to keep mum on bad police shootings.
Is more social than science. Seems that 40% of studies cannot be replicated. Yet, they get published in scientific journals.
A man, who kept his unholstered gun in his sweatpants, shot himself near the naughty bits.
Has nothing to do with how the gun feels in your hand. The gun I shoot most accurately (Ruger Match Champion) is not the one that feels best in my hand (Para LDA 45) by any means. And I don’t carry either one of those.
A university in Michigan is giving students and faculty ice soccer pucks to defend against mass shootings. They are, naturally, a gun free zone.
After I stopped laughing, I concluded this is not a completely stupid idea. A well thrown hockey puck upside the grape and its coloring books for Christmas. But there are more effective ways of dealing with active shooters, such as shooting them in the face.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
