Well, if I’d known jobs were for sale
I’d have tried out for ATF director.
More than 40% of President Obama’s top-level fundraisers have secured posts in his administration, from key executive branch jobs to diplomatic postings in countries such as France, Spain and the Bahamas, a USA TODAY analysis finds.
Twenty of the 47 fundraisers that Obama’s campaign identified as collecting more than $500,000 have been named to government positions, the analysis found.
And that’s from USA Today who, unusually, has some harsh words for the president. It’s like the new president smell has worn off or something.

I would like all of our elections to be publicly funded.

Trouble with that is then the politicians in power can pass laws deciding who gets funded and who doesn’t.

They got Blago for “pay to play”, so why can’t they get Obama?

To help you along I’d spring you some money for a no-show coat-holder job!
It was such a bitch to get out of bed this morning, it would be WORTH maxing out the credit cards to get a job in Washington where I just have to order $500 toilet seats online. I’ll also write reports on the stock of all the local gun shops!

“They got Blago for “pay to play”, so why can’t they get Obama?”
Cause the Secret Service don’t allow competeing phone taps?

Jobs for sale? Your obviously not familiar with Chicago politics. But you’ll catch on real quick.

You want to tell me you love me? Say it with money.

I’ll remind Guav that both candidates from both major parties promised to stick to a limit and accept public funding, but the guy in the Whitehouse now broke that promise when the cash started rolling in.
I’d also have to say that diplomatic postings have always been used as prestige patronage giveaways, so its kind of unfair to add them in to the total. Still, this is not the hope and change we’ve been looking for.
