What’s in a name?

Guess the shooter’s name!

So, let’s see here, carrying a gun in Cali is illegal. Carrying onto a school, also illegal. And carrying in a library, illegal. But one more law should do it!

And, judging from the pics, he had a black powder revolver and an AR-15 upper. Just an upper was shown in the police pics. However, the video of him walking in shows what looks like an AR. I’m sure it had a bullet button and was Cali legal.

When I was listening to the news, they said that located inside of his duffel bag was an additional “Barrel”. I’m assuming that they meant “complete upper”.

Also, they kept referring to the rifle as an automatic weapon. I’m sure it wasn’t, but if it was, that is also illegal.

  2. SayUncle Says:

AH, OK, he had a spare upper.

What’s in a name? This is why another ‘school shooting’ incident will mysteriously disappear down the memory hole instead of the typical media response of screaming hysterics proclaiming this is why we need more gun-control.

  4. Wolfman Says:

I’m sure all those bright, shiny new 30 rounders were all cali legit, too, right? Maybe the gun just ordered them itself, and went out and found an impressionable choirboy to do its bidding.

Media- reporting as truth things we wouldn’t accept in fiction writing…

Does it count that he was M.E?

    HakaLaka Muhamud Jihad Dirka Dirka?

His brother was named Christopher, so I’d put money on the family not being Muslim. As long as he didn’t convert to Islam and then do this, I’d say the media will emphasize that he came from “a conservative Christian family” and that he snapped rather than dropping this down the memory hole.

  8. PMain Says:

He can legally use 30rd magazines in CA, but he cannot have any of the the “evil” features like a pistol grip, telescoping stock, etc. Funny how I haven’t seen any pictures of the lower.

  9. blindshooter Says:

If he was carrying a bag with a spare upper,
large revolver, bunch of mags and 1300 rounds
like the news heads claimed the guy must have
    been a professional weight lifter.

This has been bugging me, so I finally found something that nails this down a little bit more. Still a little vague, but nonetheless explains some of the stuff that we “gun people” could see immediately:

    http://articles.latimes.com/2013/jun/13/local/la-me-0614-santa-monica-shooting-20130614

“Seabrooks said Zawahri attempted to buy a weapon in 2011, but for reasons that are unclear, the state’s Department of Justice deemed him ineligible.

Despite the denial, police say, Zawahri proceeded to buy gun components from various sources across the country and assemble his own semiautomatic rifle.

Police said they believe Zawahri’s AR-15-style weapon consisted of an “80%” lower receiver that was not fully manufactured. Because of its incomplete status, it would not require a serial number or registration.

“In this particular case, the weapon that he ended up with ultimately is one that, by definition, would be illegal to possess here in the state of California,” Seabrooks said.

The police chief said the revolver Zawahri was also carrying had been converted.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
