Southern Precision Tooling’s Church Mouse: the quietest 22LR suppressor I’ve ever heard

Mentioned I wanted to move the sights on the M&P CORE. Asked a local friend if he knew anyone who did that and he did. He met me at Southern Precision Tooling and I spoke with the guys there about what to do. Then, my friend mentioned their coming line of suppressors. I didn’t realize a manufacturer of quality suppressors was less than a mile from one of my job sites. The suppressor got its name from a local who heard it and said that’s about as loud as a church mouse’s fart. Here it is:

It’s heavier than my Gemtech but it’s not heavy. It doesn’t affect rifle weight at all and on a handgun, it’s no different than any other suppresor. But holding it in your hand, you know it’s heavier. Stainless steel construction with aluminum baffles.

Unlike most other 22LR suppressors, this one can be disassembled for cleaning.

Here’s the logo:

And here’s a video I took of them shooting it:

That thing was quiet! Production in a month or two and MSRP of around $275.

You had me until aluminum baffles. PITA to clean since anything that eats fouling also eats aluminum.

  2. SayUncle Says:

There is a stainless option, iirc. But it adds weight.

I use this stuff called Krud Kutter to clean the resin and soot from my aluminum honeycomb for the shop laser. Works great, and hasnt eaten the thin aluminum yet either.

Sounds about as loud as my 10/22 does unsuppressed.

Of course, that observation is only valid if you fire the 10/22 right after firing 20 rounds from my .308….

@SayUncle So it’s basically like the difference between a SilencerCo Warlock and a Spectre II

@Azzy Problem is the fouling on a .22 suppressor is composed of a composite of unburned powder, carbon and lead. Anything that goes after the lead attacks the aluminum. Ultrasonic and mechanical means have their own issues as well. The standard seems to be soda blasting for cleaning aluminum baffles. The cleaning issue is what made me decide on a Spectre II over a Warlock recently even though the Spectre is double the weight.

    aerodawg:
Spray down the thing with silicon lubricant, and then you can just wipe it clean.

  7. jim pierce Says:

my Silencerjuice would make more silent and clean it as you shoot and since you can take it apart you could just wipe the baffles clean.

“Unlike most other 22LR suppressors, this one can be disassembled for cleaning.”

Every 22LR suppressor that I have seen or heard about could be disassembled also.

    Was this a typo?

Overall, looks good and the price is right.

  9. SayUncle Says:

I’m discovering this. Been a while since I’ve bought one.

  10. MikeP Says:

The expression “as quiet as a church mouse” has been around for at least a couple of hundred years.

    Nice name though.

When the cycling of the bolt is louder than the round…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
