Suppressor bleg

I want to get a 9mm suppressor for use on my 9mm AR-15 and my SigArms P229. Apparently, the floating style barrel of the Sig usually warrants and adapter of some sort to ensure the weapon cycles. Anyone have any recommendations?

I may also use it on my 10/22 and my Walther P-22.

I have an LCW suppressor for my P22, and I love it. There arent a lot of suppressors that can downconvert from 9mm to .22 though. You’d need two baffle cores because of the diameter difference.

You could easily manufacture one that could be legally swappable, and pay the $200 otherwise you’d pretty much have to buy two suppressors.

At the moment, I’m looing for someone to turn the barrel end of my Marlin 880sq so I can mount the suppressor on it. The OD of the suppressor is the same as the OD on the heavy barel, so its a matter of turning down the crown, threading it, and machining a thread cap.

and I should note, I HIGHLY recommend Lauer Custom Weaponry in general. THeir customer service has been excellent.

THey have a suppressor setup for the SIG that works very well; though generally speaking the best common 9mm to suppress is the Beretta M9.

IIRC, two “baffle cores” would = two suppressors under the law. IIRC, one extra loose baffle = one suppressor under the law.

We tried my buddies 9mil suppressor on his P22 (just for grins since he has another supressor just for the P22) and it seemed a little louder than the correct one but not much. Understand that the 9mil supressor is much larger in length and diameter than the .22 supressor and unfortunately the sights did not stick up above the larger diameter. After a bit we hit pretty good, with effort, with an occluded sighting method.

    Marc,

the ATF are the most inconsistent pricks… Sometimes rebuild and maintenance parts are considered unlawful, sometimes not. Hell they’ve set people up with frikken fender washers.

How does a resident of this state go about buying a suppressor and how much does it normally cost?

Marc, i’d just shoot the 22 through the 9mm.

Terrible, got to your local gun shop and they can tell you how. takes some effort but is easy to do.

    Chris, will check out LCW.

Chris – “frikken fender washers.” My point exactly. How would a stack of “K” baffles go over?

Uncle – .22 through a 9mm? Quiet? You bet. That is not a bad way to go, my only point for you was that I couldn’t see the sights but we were able to shoot accurately with effort and practice.

We also shot a Glock in .45 ACP with a big fat suppressor on it (still pretty loud indoors) and it wouldn’t cycle for anything but the guy only had some cheap UMC ammo. I never heard how it cycled with better ammo but I could ask. That brings us to your original question was about some device for centerfire pistols, an inertial decoupling device – Like Gemtech’s L.I.D. (Linear Inertial Decoupler)

My suggestion is just try your suppressor alone first and seek a solution later if necessary.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
