Ammo prices
Tam says to stock up now. Folks are telling her the prices are about to go up again. Is ammo made from oil?

No, but it’s made of brass (copper & tin), lead, and copper, and the prices of all of those are going up, up, UP! Plus, ammo is heavy, and oil is expensive, so freight costs are climbing as well.
Add to that the expansion of conflict worldwide, and demand has also increased.
Remember Fr. Guido Sarducci’s 5-Minute University Economics course: “Supply and-a Demand. That’s it.”

Heh. It was meant to be a bit silly. I know it’s not made of oil 😉

It may not be made of oil, but it IS made out of natural gas.
Natural gas is the usual feedstock for making ammonia. From there, ammonia is turned into fertilizers, explosives and polymers. (It’s not just gasoline, the whole world’s economy revolves around dead dinosaurs)
Plus you have the spike in metal prices and transport costs and supply and demand angle Kevin touched on.
