An 8-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after he was shot by a neighbor who said he was trying to scare off some dogs, according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.
Rule four: Be sure of your target, and what is behind it.

Shooting at dogs isn’t too cool either, regardless of what is behind them.

If the dogs are running loose and unrestrained, they are a nuisance like any other varmint. And can be shot at.

I prefer calling animal control. Less effort. Less mess.

Depends where you’re at. In rural parts, animal control won’t come every time.

Or if they do come, the semi-wild dog pack is long gone. However, calling animal control still accomplishes one thing: it establishes a record that you are having trouble with loose dogs, which gives you a little legal cover when the neighbor’s pooch comes back and you shoot it.

It’s a shame Brittney would pass on her shotgun in favor of a phone call to animal control.
I wonder if she’d have trouble sleeping the next night after she found out the feral dogs worked their way into a neighbor’s backyard and killed their small child.
