Stupid
Well, it took less than two years for the Democrats to do something stupid. Byrd has chair of the appropriations committee.
Update: OK, there’s enough stupid to go around.

Can we finally retire that tired moniker “the stupid party” as a nickname for the Republicans? Sure, we have our stupid elements, your update being a prime example, but have the Republicans ever done anything as insanely dumb as to nominate an impeached, bribed jex-udge as chair of the House Intelligence Committe or a guy who refused a bribe but made it clear he’d accept it under the less transparent circumstances as their Majority Leader? Hastings and Murtha haven’t gotten those positions yet, but if the lady who promised “the most ethical Congress in history” gets her way, they will.

How about instead of Republicans we should call them Republican’ts?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Byrd? I got a bad feeling about this.

I’m equally dismayed that Robert Byrd is given anything other than a retirement party. The man is a throwback to the old days, and the Democrats need to move into the 21st Century.

Probably a good idea for the next term. For the past three, Republicouldas is more like it.

I’d consider changing the last vowel and dropping the apostrophe…

Xrlq:
Well, we could call them “Dumb & Dumber,” and argue about which is which… 🙂

It’s funny because the only bit of this I heard about on the radio from our fair and balanced mainstream media was the shocking (I tell you, shocking) news that Trent Lott is the new Minority Whip.
Way to go there, ABC news.
Xrlq, did she really say that? Wow, Clinton said almost exactly that during his first 100 days. So is she gonna resign her own leadership position over the funny-business campaign finances in her own past? After all, it was an extra-heapin’-helpin’ of hypocrisy when she was bashing Tom DeLay.

Yup, she said it all right, on election night. And I was thinking the same thing when I heard it, unfortunately I couldn’t find a transcript anywhere to fisk.
