Atlanta No Knock Update
Looks like other officers have come forward and said that the officers involved in the raid lied to obtain the warrant that resulted in the death of 92 year-old Kathryn Johnston. Last week, I wrote why I was a gun nut. Well, this is one of those situations where if these two guys aren’t put in jail, someone should shoot their asses.

They are more likely to kill themselves. I know of a lot of cops who committed suicide at the prospect of going to prison. Unfortunately, in one case, it was suicide by cop and he took an honest policeman with him.

Well, I was hoping they’d kill themselves over guilt for killing an old lady. result’s the same, i guess.

I hope that this unfortunate incident will change two things. One the way APD conducts its self and two the way judges issue no knock warrents.

SayUncle, I’ve been thinking about your comment all day (shows you how interesting my life is) and I don’t consider Kathryn Johnston a victim in that sense. In the same sense that I don’t consider Audie Murphy calling an artillery strike on his position a victim of the Nazis. She is a hero. Her death was tragic but heroes’ deaths usually are. Dwarves brought down a giant. (Which, of course, does not mean that the dwarves should escape the consequences of their crime.)
I felt this way even when I was giving the police officers the full benefit of the doubt that they had valid information and a valid warrant. When Radley Balko first posted the information that there may be no informant, the dwarves only got shorter in my estimation.
BTW: A friend of Kathryn Jonston’s, Kelly Hill, posted a comment on my blog that Kathryn Johnston would not ever have had anything to do with any kind of drugs. I believe her. I believe the cops planted the two nickel bags.
