Braisted: Women are emotionally driven, illogical beings who are incapable of making rational decisions. That is the underlying subtext of the Palin pick for McCain’s VP.
Your misogyny is showing.

Point 1. Republican women are hot, and are way hotter than their Democratic rivals. Compare McCain’s wife, Cindy and his VP pick, Sarah Palin, with Mrs. Sourpuss Obama and Hillary.
Point 2. Women in leadership roles in Western states, and Alaska counts as about as frontier Western as one can get, are not the same as their Eastern liberal counterparts. Any woman who has shot and quartered a moose will brook little nonsense from those around them.
Point 3. Republican women are hot. Did I mention that already?
August 29th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Forget hot. I’m a (most of the time) happily-married man and father.
The lady kills her own moose and eats it. She ice fishes. She cleaned up the corrupt GOP in her state. She chose to give birth to a Downs baby even though she knew in advance. A baby she is taking full care of.
She makes me look like a “girl”.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
I’m pretty sure we’re going to see a lot of sexist comments from the Democratic side over the next few months.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Sean would have voted for Mondale. That pretty much says that he has been drinking the Kool-Aid since his early years. Want to bet that if Palin was a demo he would be praising her to the skys?
August 29th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
No, he picked Palin because he reinforces his message of experience and leadership. She kicked ass as a Mayor of a town of 9,000.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Actually, I think it’s a strategically brilliant pick, because whether he wins or loses, he’s elevating some new faces into the GOP leadership spotlight. The GOP desperately needs a new generation of leaders, and Palin, Jindal, Pawlenty, and some of the other politicians McCain has been wooing are the kind who might be able to save the GOP from the bags of shit that have been running it the 1994 Republican Revolution fizzled.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Braisted or Breastfed? He’s on the bottle one way or another, talking out his glib ass – MONDALE??? Is that a proud choice??? Sheesh.
Obama chooses Bite-em’ Biden for his pitbull, so now he Da Man and down with the ‘Hood – finally has an offensive strategy. But attack dog Bite-em’ bites his own foot as much as anybody else.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Ya know, Obama is less experienced than she is. Mayor of 9,000 beats winning state senate without anyone else running. Governor of Alaska is at least equal to Senator from Illinois. The fact she takes on Big Oil (demanding they give proper tax revenues to Alaska) and he meekly follows Archers Daniel Midland puts her over him.
August 29th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
And she kicked ass as a governor of that pansy state called Alaska, with all of it’s bears, mosquitos as big as birds, moose… I can’t believe how little leadership she has shown, with all of her reforming and rooting out corruption.
don’t be jealous, mccain made a better choice than yourbama.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
As State Senator, he had over 200K constituents to her 9K as mayor of some small town in Alaska.
As US Senator, he represented 13 million people and served on the foreign relations committee while she has been getting started with the help of her husband in a state of 600K.
Now, I don’t deny that she might be a good pol, and have an impressive story…but for the last year and a half I’ve heard nothing but sniping from GOOPers that this doesn’t matter.
Had she not had ovaries, John McCain would not have picked her…point blank.
Obama endured a year and a half long primary with 20+ debates and intense media scrutiny…she was chosen by one guy and a couple of advisers and doesn’t have much of any record of positions on important domestic and foreign policy issues. Yes, she likes guns and opposes abortion and thinks she and McCain can bring reform and change to Washington by reconstituting Bush’s administration for a third term. And? I’ll be interested to hear more, that is for sure.
We’ll see whether or not McCain’s notorious gambling habit pays dividends or not.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Yes Obama had 20+ debates and he still has not said anything, He has 200K constituents. What kind of qualification is that? Oh I almost forgot he has about 143 days in the senate. The man is a empty suit. Other than being ” Clean and Articulate ” What has he accomplished? There is no choice here unless you want a liberal. I don’t like McCain but I can now go with this ticket.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
Shhh, let them keep beating the inexperience drum. Soon, they’ll be saying she should be at home taking care of her new baby. While barefoot and pregnant.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
They are saying that already.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
It’s like you can smell the fear from the left.
It’s hilarious.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Sooo… Hillary sleeps with the president for 8 years and has a term as senator, and she’s a groundbreaking woman candidate.
Palin works here way up into the governorship of Alaska (oh, hey, an executive position, a little closer to what’s actually required), and has the previously listed life experience…. but she’s just a walking set of ovaries.
Tolerance for mee, not for thee. You’re pathetic, Sean. Thanks for being one more drop in the bucket that weighs me over towards misanthropy.
August 29th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
LOL, pwnage from McCain.
“It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results — whether it’s taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the ‘bridge to nowhere.’ Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for President.”
August 29th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Sean, you may not see it and you certainly won’t ever acknowledge it, but the misogyny is just oozing out of your pores. Wow.
August 29th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
Over half of which were still alive, what with it being Illinois and all…
August 29th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
I know, we’re just a few months away from the semi-annual dead walking the earth in Chicago.
August 29th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Zombies?
I’m just three hours from Chicago.
Too bad I’m essentially illegal there.
August 29th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Just remember kiddies, Barack Jump in the Line, Rock Your Body in Time Obama’s anointment had nothing to do with him being partially black.
August 29th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
So, he’s saying that Hillary doesn’t have the ovaries otherwise Rockstar Obama would have picked her instead of old hair-plug Biden??
I really don’t get the Left anymore…and I once was one.
August 29th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
And she’s now currently the governor of a state of 600,000 people, that is over 1/3 the size of the lower 48.
You really don’t want to play this game, because not only is your misogyny showing, the Republican VICE PRESIDENTIAL nominee looks more qualified than the DEMOCRAT’S PRESIDENTIAL nominee.
August 29th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
How many times did Obama vote “present”? 140?
August 29th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
Alaska, a state not bordered by other states, but by Canada and Russia.
I bet she has some experience with foreign relations.
August 29th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
I would say that women are emotionally driven, illogical beings who often don’t make rational decisions 🙂
August 30th, 2008 at 12:14 am
Yes, Guav, but as I wrote at Lex’s place, Sarah Palin reminds me of my late Mom, in her coolness and rationality, and not just her hotness. There _are_ cool rational wimminz who are also quite hot. Mr. Palin is a very lucky man.
August 30th, 2008 at 7:10 am
She’s less of a token than the guy heading the other party’s ticket. That’s got to sting.
