Opening shots in the culture war
Being fired at the Supreme Court:
The gun control debate can be an emotional one for those on either side of the fence, such as members of the National Rifle Association or the anti-handgun Brady Campaign. Many see it as a red state, blue state issue, part of that “culture war” or “Kulturkampf” characterized by Scalia in dissent in 1996, and by conservative Patrick Buchanan in a series of speeches.

It’s awesome that UPI got the freaking name of the 2A incorporation case wrong. You know, the case that the whole article is supposed to be about.
It’s not “McCarthy v. Chicago” [sic], it’s McDonald v. Chicago.
Reading is fundamental, UPI.

Markie Marxist sez: “Yeah, it’s just a culture clash. That’s all it is. It’s not like we Marxists are trying to take over the country or anything. Gun control isn’t really about things like gun laws and banning guns and sending people to prison for decades and felonizing them and ruining their lives, it’s just a cultural thing. Like wine and cheese, and classical music. Really it is.”

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
McCarthy v. Chicago
Do these people not have Google!!??
What scares me is that I know enough about gun culture that I can spot errors in news stories. What about all the other topics where I’m not as informed? What are they getting wrong in those stories?

It’s not “Red vs. Blue”; it’s obeying full letter and spirit of the Constitution vs. rights-destroying “nanny staters”.

But you know as well as I do that some political ideologies value some rights and not others.

Deliberately mentioning Buchanan as subtle smear; great job UPI.

And when the judge says it in German, it sounds so much more fierce.
