AOW
Probably like a wallet gun.
The police have sent out an alert regarding a Mossberg shotgun hidden in a Supersoaker (with pics). Some question as to the legality of even owning such a gizmo and more on that discussion here. I would say that ownership of such a weapon may qualify as an AOW.
That said, pretty deplorable device if used criminally. Officer friendly or someone sees someone standing around with a Supersoaker then winds up getting shot.

Same reason cane guns and wallet holsters are. ATF ruled that any weapon not ‘readily discernible as a weapon’ is an AOW.

Pink guns look like weapons to me. Just pink ones.
I should note that I don’t see any ruling on this particular gun in any ATF reading. So, I would say the issue has not been addressed by them yet. But if I were going to guess, I’d say they’d classify it as an AOW.
I don’t make the rules. I’m just opining on what I think the classification would be.

wallet holsters look like wallets, not even close to resembling a gun.
Cane guns look like canes, they look as much like a gun as a stick.
This Super Soaker looks like a Super Soaker I suppose, but Super Soakers look like guns. That’s my disconnect here. The FS2000 and the PS-90 do not look like any other firearm. The KRISS sure doesn’t.
There are very funky bull pup conversion stocks out there as well.
I’m thinking of the problem with calling funny looking gun shaped objects AOW’s when applied to the rest of the world.
The Stinger Pen Gun that only shoots when bent to look like a pistol type shape isn’t an AOW if I remember correctly. It looks as much like a gun as a stick with a 45 degree bend it in looks like a gun to boot, but it’s still gun shaped, and not soemthing else shaped.
So I don’t know, but I’m worried about it.
