Ok, but even the new link doesn’t have anything to do with “free speech zones”—cordoned off areas set aside for protestors that they must stay within, often far away from the thing/person they are protesting.
And I don’t see what the big deal is, really. Hoft’s PSH headline led me to believe I was going to see a SWAT team brutally beating down elderly protestors in a bloodbath that would put Kent State to shame haha … Instead it seems that the SWAT team just kinda stood around, and stuff. As far as I can tell, they didn’t even talk to any protestors, let alone arrest anyone.
And of course he attributes their presence to an order by Obama, when I doubt he had anything to do with it. Local police usually overreact and err on the side of safety when the president comes to town—last week here in NYC the cops cut the locks on and confiscated hundreds of bikes chained up along the route Obama was to take, with no notice whatsoever given to the owners (you know, because a bike could hide a bomb, or something). I doubt “Team Obama” ordered that either.
The implication from Hoft’s headline and your additional headline is pretty clear: that President Obama personally ordered that the elderly be penned up in a cage a mile from where he was going to be and had a SWAT team beat them with truncheons haha
I guess you need a “reminder” of what free speech zones are really like. I would hope you would see this is quite a change from that instead of pretending civil liberties have been horribly trampled upon.
Lol. I meant the implication of the riot control guys marching around. But, yeah, not really free speech zones. And, yes, I remember Bush’s as well. And Hillary’s.
There’s plenty of actual things to criticize Obama for without having to invent outrage over shit that is’t a big deal and that he didn’t have anything to do with.

The video shows nothing remotely similar to what your description implies.

they’re also not a swat team. more like riot police. but i think the implication was pretty clear, there.

The reality is quite different.

Quincy police found the situation embarrassing enough that they issued a false press release to cover their backsides.
And failed.

I know what you meant—I was being a smartass 🙂

Let’s see here, they call it an MFFT, Mobile Field Force Team, instead of SWAT, you know Special Weapons and Tactics???
And the stupid here didn’t see anything “special”, but they bitch about a distinction without a difference.
Anybody who doesn’t see anything wrong with this is an idiot or an enemy or both. Get off Uncle’s back, he got it right.
So much for oathkeepers. And you don’t think this is prepatory to war? Christ on a crutch!

straightarrow:
No. I don’t.
And the idea that it is is completely unhinged from reality and totally delusional.
