In Charlotte
The Federalist Society is holding a debate between Alan Gura and Paul Helmke. Looks like the Brady Bunch is trying to drum up attendees. I already have reservations. Gun bloggers will represent.
And possible protesters this year? I hope so. They’d be fun to heckle and, generally, make fun of.

What benefit could this possibly give to Helmke? He has to know that he’s going to be not only in the lion’s den, but will be mopped up by the lion as well. There’s no good PR that will come of this, and he and his group will (and can only) resort to lying about what was said anyway.
Why go through the hassle? The way the Brady Campaign operates, they should just not go, lie and say they did, and talk about how much support they received from the audience (since they live in fantasy land anyway).

Because, like gun laws, they must do something, no matter how pointless.

If you can, video tape this and put it up on youtube or similar. I heard about a Helmke debate in TN last year, but never got a play-by-play of what weak bullshit he’s currently using.

Paul Helmke is the dumbest man in the history of Indiana politics (remember, Gary is in Indiana so this is saying something).
I cannot imagine Paulie debating a sock puppet let alone Gura.

Holy crap! I’d love to go to that! Alas, it’s not to be. But they should totally record this and put it on the interwebs.

The Federalist society and Alan Gura vs Paul Helmke.
Are the Yankees playing the local T-ball team too?

whoa whoa whoa. go back to that sock puppet idea. I would pay big money to see Helmke get outwitted, out thought, and out classed by a sock puppet…..How much of a fund can we raise to get Alan to talk through a sock puppet? all proceeds to charity of course.

Where is the ASPCA in all of this?
Aren’t there laws against this sort of thing?
