UK Shooting

The absolutely huge sniper rifle was actually a 22.

Guns to Mexico? Unpossible! Lies! Set up!

  2. Shootin' Buddy Says:

    This is common.

In my gig, many eye witnesses overestimate the size of weapons in robberies, pistol-whippings or shootings as they get scope-locked on the weapon and the mind makes it larger than it is.

  3. Robb Allen Says:

I can somewhat attest to that.

Many years ago I was broke and traveling, so I pulled into a tire shop at night and slept in my car. At 0 Dark Thirty, there was a rap at my window and I awoke to someone pointing a 50 BMG handgun at my face.

It was the cops, and he probably only had a 9mm, but at the time it was the biggest cannon I had ever seen in my life.

I don’t think anyone says guns don’t go into mexico. they just dispute the volume. And if they’re actually getting “assault rifles” then those are already unlawful here.

  5. Kevin Baker Says:

Well, it might have looked something like my Conan the Borg.

  6. Lyle Says:

What? No AK-47? Someone’s slipping in their reporting.

Yeah; the deer I shoot start out at well over 180 pounds, gutted, but by the time I get them in the garage and weigh them, they’re far lighter. Last year’s buck was of positively mythical proportions, until I got it home.

I don’t recall the second amendment having an exception that involves a certain threshold number of guns going to Mexico or anywhere else. If Mexico has problems, it is Mexico’s fault, and that has no bearing on any American’s rights.

Lets turn that stupid shit right around, by way of an intelectual exercise; If our rights are to be dependant on what happens in Mexico, we might be justified in going down there and fixing the problem ourselves, so as to protect our rights. Maybe we need 57 states after all. That would be one way to give them citizenship, I suppose, and it seems they all want it anyway.

  7. Hartley Says:

Lyle, I don’t think a majority of Mexicans want US citizenship, though a substantial number would seem to want the benefits of that citizenship. Oh, and some (small?) number of them seem to think that Arizona and Southern Cal should be part of Mexico..:-)

  8. John Smith Says:

Surprised he did not think it was a 40mm bofors gun.
As for the citizenship thing a friend of mine came to this country legally from central america. He spent years of hard work and mounds of paperwork to get his permanent resident status. Then he got his first paycheck after receiving permanent status. He was swearing every dirty word he knew in 2 languages. They finally taxed him. God he was pissed. Roughly cut a third of his check away. I pointed to the taxed part of his check and said welcome to america.

    Come and Take It

I think that the British police officer’s HAZMAT suit is a little overboard for picking up a box of 12 guage ammo.

  11. Jay Says:

chris, they wear those in the US too. It’s to prevent contamination of the crime scene.

  12. chris Says:

Jay – I thought that it was something of that nature, because he wasn’t wearing a protective mask (like he would be doing if they were disassembling a meth lab).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
