Cali Legal SU16. I shot that rifle this weekend and I was impressed. I may get one for the trunk.

Oh YES! The P64! I have one i bought new, unfired unissued! IT is an excellent lil gun for under 200! IT does have some very minor issues, but none that cant be remedied cheaply at the gun bench. I used the wolfe spring kit and reduced the trigger pull to a reasonable tension. IT does need some other spprings tho, mine recoils so bad that the saftey(which is also a decocker)falls somethimes between shots. I have fired chinese MG ammo out of it(very HOT) and the recoil was so bad that the mag fell out! IT is VERY accurate for such a small lil gun and the fit and finish is great for a gun oof that type and age. Overall, a great buy and fun lil gun. FYI, for handloaders, you can knock the taper off of standard 9mm cartridges and trim them to length and load them as 9mm MAK and they function flawlessly, I also aquired a bullet mold for mine and lead heads shoot really good out of it, just make sure you have good hardness. Happy Shooting:)

Uncle, could you do a mini-review of that SU16? I’ve been considering one myself, and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall solidity of the one I handled at my local Merchant o’ Death (except the tripod/stock when it was opened), but a range report would be nice.

Jake, I put one magazine through it while trying to sight in the red dot that was on it. It was easy to shoot, had a decent trigger, and no failures. And it grouped well at at the 10 yards or so I was shooting it. It was much more pleasant ergonomically than the decked out tactical one you can see here.

We also would have accepted “solidness”.

I was the anonymous Californian commenting in Oleg’s thread, and trunk gun is exactly what we use ’em for. Great for the purpose.

I shot one of those P64s at the NE Blog shoot. A neat little commie gun. I should save my pennies as C&R means I can now get it in Mass!

I like the SU16 too and for a while contemplated it for across-the-course shooting, but built an AR instead for the whole must-have-accuracy deal – but it’s a lot lighter than an AR.
