OK, you started it. I’m looking to get my first “smart” phone. Don’t text at all, would like the google map and being able to get on the web, and the ability to use the camera function to record from my viewpoint as I’m driving in case “something happens”. Looking at the HTC incredible with verizon in central Texas, $55 a month. Or for less features, the cricket huisez.
Don’t know if this is a record, but you used four words and the “article” actually got (as of my comment) 8 posts. LOL that’s lean and mean in blogging terms.
I finally just rooted mine to install usb and wireless tethering. Now I’m trying to figure out how to rip out all the bloatware that verizon installed.
I may go with a Droid of some sort when my iPhone contract expires. I wouldn’t mind a Windows 7 phone since I’m a Windows developer, but at this point it appears that all the carriers lock down the damned things so that you have to purchase ringtones and whatnot from them.
I won’t buy a phone ever again that is locked to the point where I can’t customize it.
I have an Android (Samsung Captivate) and Windows Phone 7 for the wife.
I’ve also used the Droid X, EVO, and the Iphone.
Basically Microsoft took the best of the Android and the best of the Iphone and put it in their new phone. It’s faster and very responsive.

You should now go download [Shooter (Ballistics)] and [Reticle Ranger] from the App Market, and you’ll be all set…

I’m with Laughingdog, typing this right now on my Droid 2.
The wife traded her iPhone for a Droid X and hasn’t looked back.

Rob Allen, android is quite easy to unlock and it basically turns into a java/linux box once you finish.

For mods and hacking then the Android wins.
