More SHOT Stuff
Lots of links here. Including this video of a belt-fed AR-15. Hopefully, unlike the Shrike, it’s not just vaporware.

The Shrike isn’t vaporware, I’ve actually shot one.

Was it unicorn-mounted?
Kidding aside, I’ve heard horror stories about the waits after substantial deposits.

No, it was at the range session during the NDIA Small Arms Symposium about a year and a half ago. Shot it prone of a bipod at the ARES vendor area. After shooting it, I wouldn’t spend my money on it.

Thanks for the linkage… You always blow up my traffic when you do that!

Not vaporware, just very longtime wait ware!
I have a friend who has just received his after placing a deposit almost 10 years ago.
Shrike has quick change barrels, multiple other necessities for a machine gun, though.

So it’s a self-contained beltfed upper requiring no mods to the lower? Interesting. Valkyrie Armament will have some major competition then, since they have to cut on the lower.

I will reserve my thoughts on the Shrike, their inability to produce them in quantity, and the fact that they should be very, very embarrassed about how they’ve treated those who paid up front, funded their project, and now look at a lawsuit directed at their claim that they are shipping in the order that they were reserved. Apparently that don’t want to honor their original pricing of around $1500…but they could at LEAST be honest about it.
This upper is based on the Colt system originally designed by Jonathon Arthur Ceiner with the problem being that you need to modify the lower to install it. Not a problem I guess unless you’re talking about a registered full-auto lower.

Or maybe I didn’t reserve my thoughts…the bastards at Ares Defense have earned every bit of scorn they get. They didn’t even have the cojones to show up at SHOT last year even though they reserved a spot.
