Infiniti Performance Line

I do want to test drive one of these:

We would love see this evolve into something that would go head-to-head with BMW’s M cars or Mercedes AMG line.

They squeezed another 18 or so HP out of the 3.7 and added some sporty upgrades. Looks nice too. Infiniti should drop a twin turbo from the GTR in one of those. That would be slick.

Kind of spendy for a hopped up Altima Coupe.

I test drove Infinitis a few years back, they seemed more targeted at luxury than performance. I insisted they find one with a manual transmission before I would consider it – they couldn’t – BMW could.

they seem to be more performance these days, with manual transmissions if you want. They’re skylines, not altimas. I like mine.

Wouldn’t that break the transmission? I admit being ignorant of the internal workings of modern nissans, but I heard a rumor that the GTR had a special transmission to withstand the power.

  4. SayUncle Says:

Dunno. I know people put aftermarket turbos in them (stillen makes one) and I don’t know that they require a new tranny. Some of them crank out 1100 hp too.

  5. JoeLBoom Says:

there is a tranny made specific for the GTR and SayUncle is currect it is a Skyline not an Altima so its more like a 370z with a small backseat and wood trim but i am glad they are focusing more on preformance but they should have just Used Nismo

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
