Product Review
Shooting Illustrated reviews the Versa Carry. It’s a clever design. I have one that I’ve been carrying on and off for a bit. It’s very lightweight and, honestly, is probably the concealed holster I’ve had.
The two cons of it are that, one, the trigger is not covered. This works for a long, heavy trigger pull like a P3AT. But I wouldn’t carry a Glock like this. Second con is that once you draw the gun, you have to remove the Versa Carry to reholster.
But for deep concealment, it’s one of the best ways to conceal barring pocket carry.

It would seem to me a third issue would be that you either have to wear a long undershirt or wear all the finish off the body side of your firearm.
I’m guessing they don’t have one for a revolver… š

why are the 9mm and .380 ones different again?

So, this basically gives you Mexican carry that won’t slide down your pants… and you can’t easily reholster.
Not something I’m gonna go run out and buy.

Sorry, but no thanks. Even for holsters that aren’t exposed on the belt, the bare minimum feature required is something to cover the trigger.
Right up front on the Darwin Carry, er… Versa Carry website: “DO NOT use this product to carry any handgun with a live round in the chamber.”
Seems to indicate that even they know how unsafe it is.
There are plenty of good holsters that take up very little more space than that, that allow you to safely carry a firearm in a usable condition – i.e. loaded.

I’m guessing lawyers. It is the gun industry.

Something like the “Saf-T-Blok for Glocks” might take care of the exposed trigger problem.

No thank you. If you really want to Mexican carry you don’t need to spend that much to keep it from sliding down your pants leg. A looped shoe string works nicely.

No way no how. If a weapon is on me the trigger is covered, period, end of discussion….

That same hook attached “tuckable style” to the center of a simple 2″ high x 4-5″ wide sandwich of kydex (two strips attached at both ends) would do the same job better.
It’d fit most guns in that class (all the small autos are 7/8″ – 1″ thick and within a few eighths of an inch top-of-slide to bottom-of-trigger guard height), so easy enough to calculate the necessary width of sandwich for stability) while covering the trigger, adding only 1/8″ – 3/32″ or so of thickness to the gun thickness, and increasing comfort.
Call it the tuckable IWB Yaqui Slide.

Doesn’t a bikini holster do about the same thing, except with covering the trigger and being usable for all calibers?
