In anti-gun insanity
Apparently, congress arms people. I can see how you’d think that, if you were a retard.
Embarrassing Bloomberg, a leading ammo supplier
Accusing the NRA of treason, by some idiot.
No, it’s not time for an assault weapons ban and it never will be. Over 75% of guns sold are semi-auto and the AR is the most popular sporting arm in the country.
I didn’t think so much stupid could fit in one place, outside a Hollywood event.

Woops, the 50-shades link from the below post is hiding in the “Apparently, congress arms people” link, just waiting for that unexpecting click…
I’m sensing a pattern with this evening’s posts….

“I did not realize there was a federal program that supplies mass murderers with weapons”
sure, it’s called “fast and furious”

Of course Congress does not arm people. That job belongs to the Justice Department.

Spitzer is not alone, unfortunately. Here in Kalifornia, our neutered AR’s and AK’s (with 10 round mags and “fixed” magazines – using a modified ‘Bullet Button’ mag release that requires the use of a tool to release the mag) have been under attack by various politicians for years, most recently by rabid lefty Sen. Leland Yee of SFO, who drafted SB249 to ban certain types of “bullet buttons’ – which would make 100,000+ gun owners into instant felons.
In the aftermath of the Aurora tragedy, he has now amended this gun-grabbing bill to outlaw ALL types of bullet buttons on semi-auto firearms in CA – potentially the largest gun-grab and government seizure, without compensation, of private property in the history of the US!
It’s easy to just blame us ‘wacky Kalifornians’ for getting what we deserve, but remember, a lot of liberal legislation starts here that eventually is adopted by many other states. What happens here will eventually effect gun owners everywhere!
Help us defeat this rampant violation of the 2nd and 5th Amendments by clicking on http://www.stopsb249.org/ , and send a message of opposition to our liberal leftist legislators.

“But how do we know who is dangerous? The Brady Campaign mentions “convicted felons,” “convicted domestic abusers,” “terrorists,” and “people found to be dangerously mentally ill.”
“It omits a crucial category: people with dangerous ideas.”
How many through history have been murdered by this ‘good intention’?

That Reason piece is satire.
It’s only obvious if you get to it via the Hit & Run blog post (which explicitly says “Jacob Sullum Modestly Proposes an Ideological Test for Gun Ownership.”).
The problem is that the Poe’s Law threshold for satirizing anti-gunners is very low (and that if you come to the piece by an outside link or from the reason.com front page, you have no idea that it was meant as satire; only the blog post refers to it as a modest proposal).

Okay. I thought so… The issue here is so many of the anti’s ideas are so whacked, It’s hard too out-whack them for the sake of satire.

Jacob Sullum’s Modest Proposal ran in the Chicago Sun-Times and the comments section did not meltdown.

The B.A.R. is an assault weapon, the M1 Garand is not. Because the BAR has a “full-auto” mode.
Similarly, the Luger is a pistol while the MP3 Schmeisser was a “machine” pistol. Because the MP3 had a “full-auto” mode.
Politicians and editors like the “assault weapon” appelation, but their usage could apply to, say, most shoes: try kicking a cop, and tell us if he does not at least threaten you with an “assault with a deadly weapon” charge.

Just one question for Mr. Buchanan:
Are the Village People going to make a comeback?
