I think he’s talking about me
But good point. I do that because fuck you.
Update: And I hope Joe knows that’s a joke since he can shoot me from his house.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Ya’ll play nice. 😉

I was laughing as soon as I saw the pingback email. And it didn’t include the update.
If I had the capability to shoot you from my place it is likely the politics of the entire world would have undergone some radical changes in the last few years. And you and I would be taking the kids on a space cruise and and talking about the bad old days.
There are lots of people that say that and I think it’s fine for most situations. I just want people to have a ready alternative if a microphone gets shoved in their face.

I dunno. I’m almost inclined to think saying that into the microphone is necessary.

It depends on the context of the microphone. Alternatives are almost always a good to have. The right tool for the job and all that.

I’ve tried reasoned discussion and still do, but the cussing is starting to feel more appropriate.

Gently lead them into self-contradiction. If they are in public you win the crowd (those that are worth winning).
If they are at all self-aware and have intellectual integrity, they will reconsider their position.
If they are a robot, they will self-destruct.

I find that the more I make them justify THEIR positions, the crazier they get and I win. And all the uncommitted and uninformed readers lurking on the various sites like HUFFPO get to watch THEM become the crazy people.

Maybe not from his house, but as I’m fond of saying, “given the speed of sound and how fast you’ll drop, you’ll never hear the shot.”

“None of your business” still works for me.
I consider it a sign of the times that rebuffing busybodies by pointing out that things are none of their business is rare these days; it suggests that the basic awareness of privacy – the real privacy of minding one’s own business, and knowing what one business is, and isn’t – are quite heavily eroded.
It’s nobody’s business why I need anything, as needs are not rights.

Another good options is, “It’s a Bill of Rights, not a Bill of Needs.”

I little late, BUT,
Q: Why do you need… a thirty round magazine?
A: David Gregory.

Ah, but as soon as we shoot up the ammo, everyone’s cool, those evil high cap magazines will just evaporate or something …
Really.
